We invite you to a hands-on training session on pruning fruit trees. During this day of discussion, you will learn restoration pruning techniques, maintenance techniques, and training techniques for apple trees of all ages. We will also discuss the theory behind pruning walnut, pear, plum, cherry, and chestnut trees.

- Identification and recognition of different fruit tree parts

- Understanding the physiology of fruit trees

- Introduction to the basic concepts of fruit tree pruning

Why prune: Pruning encourages healthy plant structure, increasing aeration and the amount of sunlight reaching the fruit-bearing branches. Increased aeration and light help limit the development of disease and insect populations. Thanks to these operations, the tree has more energy to produce better quality fruit. Once the tree's shape and health are assured, pruning can be used to balance vegetative growth and fruit production so that the plant's energy is focused on fruit production. Ultimately, pruning fruit trees and shrubs increases their life expectancy and maximizes their productivity.

In case of bad weather, the training will be postponed to Sunday, March 1, 2026.
