We hope our newsletter will spark your curiosity and inspire you to "reforest" your environment! Thank you and happy reading!
Hello everyone,
To break the ice, thank you, yes you who came to the Papineauville seed festival, it was a real pleasure to meet you! By the way, it is now time to reveal the winners of the contest. The selection was made with the help of a random number generator on the internet (random.org). Without further ado... Congratulations to Alyssa L'Écuyer Pilon, Maureen McEvoy and Louise-Hélène Naud! We will contact you shortly. Thank you all for participating, your help was invaluable for our start-up! For those of you who weren't there, we look forward to meeting you and invite you all to watch our social networks for various announcements and content ;)
February rhymes with cold weather, with Valentine's Day, but for us, it rhymes with the end of winter. Indeed, it is the beginning of our activities at the nursery. So don't hesitate to consult our inventory on our website and reserve your favorite species.
Once the last cold of winter has passed, usually associated with the last full moon of February, it will be possible to start pruning your trees. If you would like to take advantage of our pruning services and have us come to your home to maintain your fruit trees, write us and we will give you a free quote. Our pruning schedule will officially open on February 13th.
If you are interested in learning more, we will be offering hands-on training on pruning fruit trees. Dates will be determined according to the weather between the weekends of February 25 and 26 or March 4 and 5. If you are interested, send us an email and we will provide you with more information.
It is now time to introduce you to a member of our team who works behind the scenes. A living being of remarkable calm and resilience demonstrated time and time again. This is Syntress, one of our rodent control cats:
His hard work, day and night, summer and winter, ensures the safety of our seedlings against their predators (rodents). You will have the chance to meet him during the farm visits! (Pssssst, Syntress is the name of the stream that runs through the nursery. A simple tribute, you see).
Oh yes, the individual in this picture is Louis, the person in charge of the mushroom section of the nursery. Speaking of mushrooms, we would like to take this opportunity to inform you that mycelium orders can be placed until the last day of March. The packages will be delivered at the ideal time for the implantation in the garden. After this date, no orders will be considered. If you are interested, we have two species of mushrooms available on our website, the king oyster mushroom and the wine cap mushroom. Here is a picture of a wine cap on wood chips growing at the foot of a strawberry plant!
Be quick! Our stocks are limited.
This concludes the February newsletter. If you have any questions or comments, don't hesitate to contact us! Until March, be well!
